The Top 10 Walks series are widely recognised for their excellent structure, content, design and photography.

Winner, ‘Best Guidebook’ 2014: Official Guide to the Wales Coast Path: Llyn Peninsula, by Tony Bowerman and Carl Rogers

The judges commented:

A gorgeous looking book which matches its contemporary design and feel with well aimed and informative snippets of information as you go. There’s a great deal of detail packed into the pages and the book stands up on its own – you wouldn’t need much more to get you round the peninsula.

Far too many guidebooks are let down with bland, anodyne commentary, but in this, the authors’ personalities and enthusiasms come through in the background and points-of-interest. The route directions are concise and accurate and, although not part of the judging criteria, the book’s design and format is impressive.”

Guidebook, Winner Lake District: Walks to Waterfalls by Vivienne Crow

“Part of a small but perfectly formed Top Ten series. There’s little to fault in this winning formula – clear maps and instructions, concise and well laid out with the reader very much in mind. These are great value for money at under a fiver. Of the three from this series submitted for consideration, Vivienne’s book narrowly got the nod due to some excellent photography and cover.”
